Funeral Support document pack
Contribution and Payment Terms
How contributions are authorised, collected, corrected, cancelled and reconciled.
1. Contribution schedule
The current amounts are £60 Individual/£100 Family for the first year; £7/£10 monthly or £60/£100 annually after year one; and £30/£55 per approved community event, capped at three event contributions in a rolling 12 months.
2. Clear authority
- The payer must have authority to use the selected payment method.
- The checkout page must identify DARUL FALAH CIC, the amount, purpose and whether it is one-off or recurring.
- A different payer does not become a member or gain decision rights merely by paying.
- Darul Falah will not store full card details; the hosted provider handles them.
3. Variable community-event contributions
Darul Falah must send durable notice of each amount and intended collection date before collection. The notice must identify the approved community event in a privacy-preserving way, show the member's rolling-event count and explain how to query or cancel the instruction.
- No more than three event contributions per rolling 12 months.
- No retrospective collection without valid authority.
- No charge after participation has ended, except a previously authorised amount already in the clearing process and lawfully due.
4. Payment status
A browser return page or receipt screen is not proof that money settled. Darul Falah records payment only after a verified, duplicate-safe provider notification. The system must not process the same provider event twice.
5. Failed, reversed or disputed payments
- Darul Falah will notify the payer and allow a reasonable correction opportunity.
- A support decision or activation must use verified payment status, not a screenshot supplied by the applicant.
- An incorrect provider refund must be repaid where the applicable payment guarantee requires it.
- Darul Falah will investigate suspected misuse manually and will not treat every reversal as fraud.
6. Cancellation
A payer may cancel a Direct Debit through their bank and may cancel a recurring card authority through the provider or Darul Falah. Cancellation stops future collection but does not itself decide whether membership remains active. Darul Falah will communicate the participation effect separately and fairly.
7. Refunds
Darul Falah provides a 30-day voluntary first-contribution cancellation period. Duplicate or erroneous collections will be corrected. After the voluntary period, cleared contributions already committed to the communal fund are normally non-refundable unless law, payment rules or a specific Darul Falah decision requires otherwise.
8. Grant payments
- Grant payments require a recorded decision and independent finance validation.
- Darul Falah normally pays a verified funeral provider directly.
- Bank-detail changes require independent verification and two-person approval.
- The Scheme Lead and Finance and Payment Officer must both authorise release.
- A grant will not exceed the approved decision or verified eligible costs.
9. Contact
Questions about contributions, errors, refunds or cancellation should be sent to info@darulfalah.org with the registration reference where available.
