Immediate guidance
Practical guidance about the first steps, the funeral process and which organisations may need to be contacted.
Darul Falah Funeral Services
We help Muslim families understand urgent next steps, funeral arrangements and the information that may be needed. Applications for our discretionary community-support scheme are now open.
Registration is open · unclear applications are routed to human review
How we can help
Bereavement is difficult enough. We aim to explain what happens next in plain language and avoid asking families for the same information repeatedly.
Practical guidance about the first steps, the funeral process and which organisations may need to be contacted.
Help families understand provider arrangements, quotations, documentation and repatriation requirements where relevant.
An authorised person may ask Darul Falah to consider a discretionary community grant. No grant or amount is guaranteed.
What happens
Urgent funeral deadlines matter, but speed must not remove evidence checks, fairness or protection of the communal fund.
Tell us who has died, who is contacting us and what help is urgently needed.
We explain essential evidence and what can safely follow later.
A Case Review and Compliance Officer verifies the relevant record and evidence.
The Scheme Lead decides whether any discretionary grant is appropriate and records the reasons.
If a grant is approved, finance independently verifies the recipient. Two authorised people must approve release.
Funeral Support Scheme
Contributions enter one communal fund. They do not create a personal savings balance, ownership share, insurance cover or guaranteed right to a funeral payment.
Support is discretionary, may be £0, and is never guaranteed.
Contribution schedule
The schedule has Individual and Family membership. Contributions do not buy a guaranteed benefit.
| Contribution | Individual | Family | When it applies |
|---|---|---|---|
| First contribution | £60 | £100 | Paid in advance when membership begins |
| Annual renewal | £60 | £100 | Annual option after the first year |
| Monthly renewal | £7 per month | £10 per month | Monthly option after the first year |
| Community event | £30 | £55 | For each approved qualifying death event |
Registration is open. Applicants see the current Terms and contribution schedule before deciding whether to join.
Who may apply
Eligibility is checked before membership is accepted and may be checked again when support is requested.

Protecting the communal fund
Safeguards protect genuine members while allowing innocent mistakes to be corrected. A risk signal prompts human review; it is not an automatic accusation.
Duplicate records, authority to act and family relationships may be verified.
The 45-day period reduces known-risk or deathbed joining while retaining exceptional human review.
Death, eligible costs and relevant circumstances must be supported by appropriate official evidence.
Direct payment to a verified funeral provider is normally preferred; bank details are independently checked.
Case review, scheme decision and finance release are recorded separately, with two-person payment approval.
False information or manipulated evidence may lead to suspension, refusal or recovery, with a route to request reconsideration.
Common questions
We want people to understand the community nature of the Scheme and its limits before contributing.
No. It is a discretionary community contribution fund. Contributions do not purchase insurance cover or guarantee any payment.
No. Completing the initial period only permits an eligible person to make a request. Every case is reviewed and the decision may be £0.
It helps protect community contributions from opportunistic joining when a death is already known or expected, while allowing exceptional and genuinely unforeseen circumstances to receive human consideration.
Support is not normally considered. Darul Falah may consider exceptional, genuinely unforeseen circumstances, but this is not promised and does not create entitlement.
This may include proof of identity and authority, an official death record, funeral quotations or invoices, relationship evidence and, where relevant, hospital, coroner, police or emergency-service information.
Payment to a verified funeral provider is normally preferred. Any alternative recipient must be justified, verified and approved through the controlled finance process.
Yes. The current Terms explain how to ask for reconsideration or make a complaint. A person who was not responsible for the original decision should review it where possible.
